Our mission at Sunshine Coast Business Now since we started back in 2019, was to build a platform where local business could be found and seen easily and continue to promote and educate locals about the importance of supporting local business first. (No brainer really)
Buy Local Sunshine Coast has been around for a while, doing much the same thing, so joining forces sounds right and simply doing it bigger and better.
There are a number of options available that can give your business even more exposure.
To get behind and list your business, just click on the link: Buy Local Sunshine Coast
10 Toes Brewery, another great local business success story. What started out as a hobby, has grown into one of the Sunshine Coasts most successful craft brewers.
Heres one local Sunshine Coast business doing everything possible to support local.
Supporting local business does more for local economies than most would ever think about. It employs local people, it keeps money from those businesses circulating in other local businesses, pays taxes so that local infrastructure continues and keeps local industries alive rather than move offshore or disappear altogether. (Which effects employment, prices and more!) Checkout the links below for our social media and local business and customer registration links.
Made on the Sunshine Coast, has evolved a little over the last few months. Our facebook page is still currently the same, but we've made a few minor changes in brand, focusing more on Sunshine Coast Businesses that are owned, as well as products that are made. Hence Sunshine Coast Business Now, Owned and Made, along with Made on the Sunshine Coast and Think Local First. (All the important links are below).
We have a number of ideas that we are currently working to help promote local business first.
And there's more to come.
It wasn’t that long ago we still had a car industry! But now more and more we are looking at offshoring anything and everything because of costs and profit.
The answer is twofold. Businesses need to get smarter and more competitive. You can’t just sell one thing a week and charge for it. You need to get competitive, so you sell ten a week. That will keep buyers here, rather than on eBay. Businesses need to standout, evolve, engage and build relationships with the community, customers and clients.
We also have to support local business first. If there’s more than one option, buy the Australian one. But its also about local customers, being more aware of locally made options and then supporting them.
The answer to so many financial and social issues we have could be easily solved, by supporting local businesses, before we support overseas or interstate or outside of local.
Is it made or done here? Yes local businesses may need to get a little more competitive, but if it can be sourced here, whatever it is, shouldn't we do that first?
We are currently developing a number of other local business support initiatives including a local business loyalty and referral program. If you'd like to know more or become part of the program as either a local business or customer, just register via the link below, its free.
